Vespasian Security is recruiting for SIA Door Supervisors to join our growing number of teams deployed to Portsmouth Football Club.

Running from August until the end of May each football season, Vespasian is looking for new team members who want to be part of a great team both on and off the field. Vespasian has been working to assist the in-house safety team at PFC since 2015. Supplying a diverse team of Crowd Safety Stewards and SIA Door Supervisors in a number of different roles within the stadium from Corporate Suites to pitch side Stewarding, the Vespasian team has relished every game.

Successful candidates will become part of Vespasian’s growing PFC Stewarding Team who have a varied and exciting set of duties.  Playing a crucial role in helping to ensure the experiences of fans are not only enjoyable but safe, Crowd Safety Stewards are a key component to the stadium safety team.

Depending on position, applicants will either be responsible to a Stand Supervisor, Team Leader or directly to the Stadium Safety Officers.

The role of an SIA Door Supervisor within a football ground includes but is not limited to:

  • Working as part of a team
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Being familiar with the layout of the stadium and the facilities available to customers, such as toilets and first aid locations.
  • Monitoring crowds for signs of distress
  • Carrying out pre-game and post-game checks
  • Dealing with emergencies
  • Communication with colleagues via radio
  • Dealing with customer queries
  • Searching fans upon entry to the ground

The position requires applicants to demonstrate a number of key skills:

  • Customer care skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Be a team player
