Junior Contract Manager – Security and Crowd Management

• Location: On site, Home, Portsmouth Office and event sites around the UK
• Salary: £22,500 (£10.81ph) increasing to £25,000 (£12.01ph) after first three months, sales bonus available.

The successful candidate will be working directly with Vespasian Company Directors and Senior Management to ensure the delivery of an outstanding service by Vespasian team members at sites across a large portfolio of clients.

The role is to be an ambassador for Vespasian’s company culture not only within our operational team but also with our clients and the wider community. This demanding role will call upon the team member to not only work alongside operational teams, ensuring the highest quality of service provision but also to be part of the detailed project planning team, developing plans for a multitude of security and crowd management clients.

Vespasian deploy team members to a wide range of security sectors including retail, facilities management, health care, social care, night-time economy, crowd safety management as well as international consultancy. This will call upon the successful candidate to take on key roles within a multitude of operations including large scale crowd management teams at local regional, national and, at times, international events.

The role is varied as well as dynamic and it will call upon the candidate to show, not only great flexibility, but also determination and tenacity.

After the initial 3 month period the successful candidate will take charge of a portfolio of contracts to manage on a day-to-day basis.

Common and regular duties:

• Daily deployment to support Vespasian teams operating within the Southern Region.
• Manage a portfolio of contracts, leading as the point of contact with clients from a wide range of industries.
• Build great professional relationships with clients and operational team alike.
• Bring a proactive and positive approach to all aspects of your work.
• Attend any necessary meetings with clients, frontline operational teams and the Vespasian head office team.
• Lead team member company inductions ensuring a great welcome to Vespasian.
• Delivering on site inductions ensuring the highest possible level of team member safety and quality of service.
• Work closely with Vespasian Head Office Team to ensure all rotas are fulfilled. This must be completed inline with client requests.
• Manage all absence and holiday requests for operational team members deployed to contracts within your portfolio.
• Ensure all site and operations within your contract portfolio achieve KPI’s.
• Performing quality checks and site audits ensuring that all necessary procedures are being followed by operational teams.
• Working closely with clients to understand amendments and requested changes to deployment and service levels.
• Conducting and writing team assignment instructions, risk assessments for operational teams to follow.
• Take on a series of vocational training courses running concurrently to your working hours, to upskill and develop your knowledge on a continual basis

Common but irregular duties and activities:

• Take an active role in recruitment including assisting at mass recruitment events and job fairs as well as conducting interviews.

What you need to be the best candidate:

What do you need before you can apply?

What is required:

• Be based in the South Hampshire or West Sussex area (Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham, Chichester etc).
• Hold a current SIA Door Supervisor or SIA Close Protection licence as well a wealth of experience within operational security roles.
• Have good IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programmes including Excel, Word etc.
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Be prepared to dive into a role which often calls upon work to be carried out during antisocial hours as well as during national holidays and weekends.
• Be excited to be part of a dynamic company working within an exciting industry
• Have a desire to be a great leader and to understand that leadership is a skill to be developed.

What is desired:

• Have already worked within the security industry as a Supervisor or Junior Manager.
• Additional sector relevant qualifications
• Track record of client and customer liaison

Professional development and progression

The successful candidate will receive a budget to the value of 5% of their annual salary at their disposal. This is ring fenced to undertake additional professional qualifications. This budget renews annually.

Alongside this certificated learning, the candidate will shadow senior team members during major events, new contract set up protocols, incident response planning, facilities management security system planning as well as a wealth of other areas of the security industry.
